Teun de Nooijer
Woensdag, 28 august 2013

As one of the world’s best hockey players, Teun de Nooijer was the perfect person for Princess to develop a new hockey stick, together with Princess. The Princess T14 hockey stick has become a very successful product in the Netherlands, Belgium. Germanyand Spain. In addition a T14 hockey shoe and a Princess clothing line were developed as well.

When Teun de Nooijer approached Princess with the question whether they were interested in participating in the Teun de Nooijer Academy (TDNA) he immediately received a positive response. Identifying and encouraging qualities of talent in people, is something that appeals to Princess and we are very proud to be a partner of the TDNA.

Thursday, 29 august 2013

Austin Smith (captain of the SA men’s hockey team) is one of the best hockey players South Africa has ever produced. He was named captain of the South African Men’s Hockey Team post his stand-out performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He is a two time winner of the South African Player of the Year Award and was named alongside other world class players in the FIH World All Stars Team. Austin is an attacking midfielder and at 26 years of age has 74 international caps scoring 16 goals for South Africa. He proudly wears the #5 on his playing shirt for country, club and province.

After the success of Teun de Nooijers T14 line and expansion of the Princess brand into South Africa, it was only natural to partner with South Africa’s best hockey player, Austin to create his own Princess A5 line. A5 meaning “A” for Austin and the number “5” on his playing shirt. Together Princess and Austin have worked to create his signature stick the “Princess A5” which has subsequently been launched and is available for sale in South Africa.

Born: May 20, 1985

Work: Besides just hockey Austin has recently qualified with a Bachelor of Education from the University of South Africa which he completed in The Netherlands. He plans to continue his studies while playing hockey in The Netherlands.
